Sultan Badukail

Senior Designer

Growing up in the desert environment of Saudi Arabia, Sultan was inspired by the region’s challenging climatic conditions to design landscapes that thrive in hot and arid climates. With a third of the Earth’s land being arid or semi-arid—where limited precipitation creates harsh conditions for plants and wildlife—Sultan is driven to focus on desert landscapes, or Xeriscapes, blending sustainability with cultural authenticity.

Sultan holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from King Saud University. His work is deeply influenced by an interest in the cultural behaviors of different communities, drawing inspiration from their unique traditions, history, and social dynamics.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Sultan enjoys traveling and exploring diverse cultures, finding creative fuel in their stories, religions, and ways of life.
