Yile has always been curious about different cultures and how the individuality of “place” is reflected in the environment, and believes that design is one way to connect human behavior to the natural world. In the midst of an era marked by dramatic change and numerous societal challenges, designers can innovate and explore new possibilities to build better connections between people and the environment.

Yile holds a Master of Architecture and Urban Design from Columbia University in New York, and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, China, where she also was part of an exchange program in Norway at the School of Architecture and Design in Oslo.

In her spare time, Yile enjoys drawing, reading, Chinese calligraphy, and experiencing a wide variety of local cultures and customs through travel. She is also very curious about human history and the laws of the universe.
