Equipped with a pen and sketchbook, Brett’s passion for process and storytelling fuels his approach to design. He strives to understand the historical significance and current realities of each project site through extensive research and discovery. Brett operates from abstract motifs to tangible design solutions that can be implemented. With national and international experience, Brett strives to help create places and spaces that are artfully practical, simple, and dynamic. From small to large scales, he has experience with a wide variety of project types.
Brett holds a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from Kansas State University and is a licensed landscape architect in Kansas. He has also completed the Kauffman Center FastTrac for Entrepreneurs program. Brett is the current president of the Prairie Gateway chapter for ASLA. As a frequent design critic, awards juror, and occasional guest speaker, Brett advocates on behalf of landscape architects and their critical importance on shaping the built environment.
When Brett isn’t immersed in projects or sketching, he is likely with his wife at one of their four kids’ practices, games, sports tournaments, or school functions. His family enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and hanging out with their two rescue pit bulls.
