Amber Hill is a Project Designer at Coen + Partners. She received her Masters of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota. Her area of design focus is centered on creating contemplative spaces that reveal a connection between the built environment and nature. While pursuing her graduate degree, Amber received the 2014 Capstone Award, the 2014 ASLA Honor Award, and the 2013 Student Design and Scholarship Excellence Award. She also received the Excellence on the Waterfront Student Honor Award for her thesis project which focused on the recently flooded and demolished Time Check neighborhood in her hometown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Previously, Amber interned with Oslund and Associates, taught an undergraduate design studio, and participated in myriad outreach projects. Amber's work is influenced by her background in Sociology, community engagement, and world travel, as well as her interest in photography. She is passionate about building community and has enjoyed working with the Center for Urban and Regional Planning where she led tactical urbanism interventions with local student groups. Amber is dedicated to artful design and improving the quality of public space.
